The role

The Operations Manager is responsible for all of our on-site operations: recces, installs, repairs and derigs of Time Lapse Camera Systems (Lobster Pots). You will lead and manage a team of technicians and act as a vital interface between clients, sites, and staff. This is a critical role for the safe and effective operation of the company. The role requires a dynamic individual who can manage multiple operational activities and enable clear communication in order to minimise issues when attending site. The flow of work is very often last-minute and requires an excellent problem solving and time management skills to fulfil the needs of the client.

This role reports to the Managing Director.


Personnel Management:

- Line Manager for a team of technicians

- Scheduling of technicians for operational work

- Ensuring all training is relevant, in date and adhered to

- Secondment of technicians to workshop duties

- Managing career progression and targets for technicians

- Management of disciplinary matters and actions

- Research and schedule appropriate technician training

- Design and develop policies for working methods

- Ensure all PPE is appropriate, safe and documented

- Ensure liaison between technicians and production department is effective

Project Management:

- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and effectively

- Identifying risks and implementing control measures

- Ensuring that recce reports are created in a timely manner to a high specification

- Liaising with our sales team to deliver excellent customer service

- Co-ordination with suppliers and site staff for deliveries of plant and equipment

- Liaising with workshop manager to ensure timely provision of equipment required

- Production, distribution and agreement of RA/MS for all work

- Document control and record keeping for RA/MS in line with ISO9001

- Creating and maintaining project files using internal software

- Reporting H&S issues to the Board

- Reporting work and training completed and planned to the Board

Fleet Management

- Ensuring vehicle fleet is well maintained, serviced and repaired

- Ensuring vehicle fleet has full complement of tools and equipment

- Maintaining driving policy documents

Client Management

- Liaison between clients, site and LP staff to ensure all work is carried out safely, courteously and effectively

- Ensuring clients are satisfied with quality of work on site

£28,000 - £33,000 (dependent on experience)
